Week 25: Sunset Painting

Hello!

Here is my sunset painting, which turned out pretty good! My favorite sunsets are the blue ones, not the pinks and the oranges, so I wanted to paint this one instead of the traditional ones. I think the hardest part was treating it like a watercolor and still getting that texture. The cool thing is that from faraway, the painting looks like a real photograph. This was pretty fun, so I think that I'll do more sunset/sunrise paintings.

  3. The colors you used go fantastic together. You did a wonderful job with drawing the attention of the viewer, I like how the sun is near the mountains, which puts the lightest and darkest spots next to each other. I might suggest using your paint thicker so it's not so transparent, but this painting seriously rocks!

  5. This painting is magical! The sky seems to be proclaiming something and showing off its might, while the water is calm and still. I love how all the different colors weave in and out of the painting to make it feel connected. Beautiful!
